Corsica, might I lie between your teeth until this breech is bridged
Here beneath these monolithic, white venetian cliffs
Where behemoth eyes and clouds collide and speech suspends
Where we were easier to believe before our wings were clipped
Chart a course between the sand dunes and the north shore
Have you been reborn, you swore like everything was nothingness and nothing more
Now when you speak it truly seems you have been fucked and torn
There are crows amongst us

Found in the Flames

I've seen the devil yawn
I've seen heaven withheld and hell in his palm in the clutch of dawn
I used to covet a kingdom of blood, I shed a soul colored monochrome
Until we filled our cups by the fountainhead and hedges overgrown
Broken and free from the fetters between
Is it true
Each spark your heart consumes
Each infernal bloom
Is a phantom torn asunder
And how soon could you desecrate what hallowed you knew
If only to cleanse your wounds in the company of the others
But you pulled me out
From a swollen womb, tempest-tossed
Beneath those pillar clouds
Beneath a crescent moon and an absent god
Is it such a stretch
That perhaps without there is no such loss, just a safety net
So you scratched at the surface until all that was left was the truth
Twist all your senses into submission
Culpable for such a vulgar display
Found in the flames, found in the flames
Bliss and redemption are found in the flames

Halves

The ether plastic and static, precipitous and indiscriminate
The dialogue carried on in the attic
Concomitant with and omnipresent itch
There are horns held beneath every halo
A pitchfork tucked beneath each wings
I am still dizzy from the burden of the vertigo
And the white hot light emanating from your teeth as it unfolds
Unbridled, what more might you have become?
I heard my ghost inquire of his prior home
The apparition ascended into the sun
godless, nameless, no anchor in tow
Truths held once ripped along the fence
All things are now as they forever have been
Mired in chaos and perfect sense, though just beyond your reach

Governess, I'm crushed, entangled, thorn and thicket
Is this blood or is this rust within this shell
Only hopeful apparatus, toxic elixir, cognitive fracture
Sometimes perseverance is a tough sell
But I still bow before the throne of the iconoclast
This may be irony, or merely happenstance
There are bodies bloodlet all along the picket fence
There is a middle into which you may well never fit
Martyr scars and monuments, a retroactive pardon
Know they not the past from which they come
The softest touch and falsest crux, is an apparition present
Angel I have waited, for who knows how long

When neither skeleton key nor code were found in the cathedral
I took a cemetery stroll with my shadow
What could I learn, what could I know
In a mineshaft or a black hole
My canary sang so pretty, but they let my song bird go
I was absent at the engagement
I built my gallows high
In hopes I would never have to hang from them
Beneath this wounded sky
A conduit exposed, a sanctuary seized
There are ghosts within the belfry, but no asylum in these dreams
What could I know, what could I find
In a nickle urn or a gold mine
My canary sang so pretty, I left my song bird behind
I was absent at the arraignment
I built my gallows high
In hopes I would never have to hang from them
Beneath this wounded sky
